Founded in 1901, Walgreens is currently headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois. Walgreens provides the most convenient
access to consumer goods and services, and pharmacy, health and wellness services, in America.
The company has recorded 37 consecutive years of record sales. The firm operates some 7,800 drugstores in all 50 US
states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico, as well as two mail-order facilities. Prescription drugs account
for about two-thirds of sales; the rest comes from general merchandise, over-the-counter medications, cosmetics, and
groceries. Recently Walgreens bought e-retailer drugstore.com and Duane Reade.
